Dr. Haiyan Wang completed the first three years of her adult psychiatry residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington D.C. She completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at New York University. NYU is one of the nation’s leading institutes in children’s mental health. She has also received psychoanalytical training from Washington Baltimore Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Wang also holds a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Physiology and Neurobiology. Prior to her residency and fellowship, she invested years in psychiatric and neuroscience research and published journal articles.

Dr. Haiyan Wang is particularly passionate about diagnosing and practicing evidence-based treatments in children, adolescents and young adults who have anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, mood disorder, PTSD, ADHD, disruptive behavior, and psychosis as well as providing parenting and behavioral strategies. She has a thorough knowledge of the neuroscience that is related to psychiatric illnesses. She stays up to date with current research on those topics.

Dr Sean Tai BeverlyMHS Psychiatrist Los Angeles

Sean Tai, Psychiatrist in California & Arizona

Sean Tai, D.O. is a board-certified general psychiatrist licensed in California and Arizona. Dr. Tai is originally from Southern California but completed his medical school training in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and his psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona – Main Campus, the largest academic medical center in Arizona. In medical school, Dr. Tai spearheaded the creation of a community organisation focused on educating medical professionals in Appalachia on LGBTQ-related topics (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or sometimes questioning)) in healthcare and medicine. During residency, Dr. Tai served as chief resident for the psychiatry program. Here he received the residency professionalism award in recognition of his efforts. He also received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and mentalization-based psychotherapy. He has pursuing specialized experience working with college students and professional athletes. 

Dr. Tai’s approach towards mental health is holistic and integrative, with a focus on biological, psychological, and sociological contributors to psychiatric illness and wellness. He is especially interested in treating anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD. He believes in individualized, collaborative treatment plans as well as the importance of psychotherapy to help with recovery. In general, Dr. Tai prefers avoiding unnecessary medications and is particularly conservative regarding controlled substances such as benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, and Ativan) in favor of preventative and evidence-based treatments.

Dr Elio Pedroso Conroy Psychiatrist at BeverlyMHS, California

Elio Pedroso Conroy, Napa Valley-based board-certified Adult Psychiatrist

Elio Pedroso Conroy, MD, located in Napa Valley, is a board-certified Adult Psychiatrist licensed in California. Dr. Conroy attended medical school in Brazil, where he is originally from. He practiced as a generalist physician for a few years in his home country strengthening his foundation in general medicine.

After that, he moved to the USA and completed his psychiatry residency at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington DC.  Dr. Conroy is particularly interested in working with individuals with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD and ADHD. In his view, the healing work should not stop with the symptoms’ amelioration. Ideally, exploring the roots of maladaptive behaviors will eventually allow patients to choose a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. He also utilizes philosophical insights from different schools of thought to help patients break free from their recurrent negative thoughts.

While working for the state hospital of California, he has successfully treated challenging patients with historical poor response to treatment. He is consequently further expanding his knowledge on medication management. As such, he hardly ever prescribes addictive medications (such as benzodiazepines) on a long-term basis.

Yoko Ichimura, Los Angeles based Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Yoko Ichimura is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Education from the University of Montana. She has experience working in Community-Based Outpatient, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Yoko has a passion for working with teenagers, young and older adults. She helps developing and utilizing necessary coping skills to manage and thrive during difficult times and life transitions, and through needed changes.

Her specialty areas include depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and stress management. She approach therapy from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP).
