Sean Tai, D.O. is a board-certified general psychiatrist licensed in California and Arizona. Dr. Tai is originally from Southern California but completed his medical school training in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and his psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona – Main Campus, the largest academic medical center in Arizona. In medical school, Dr. Tai spearheaded the creation of a community organisation focused on educating medical professionals in Appalachia on LGBTQ-related topics (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or sometimes questioning)) in healthcare and medicine. During residency, Dr. Tai served as chief resident for the psychiatry program. Here he received the residency professionalism award in recognition of his efforts. He also received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and mentalization-based psychotherapy. He has pursuing specialized experience working with college students and professional athletes. 

Dr. Tai’s approach towards mental health is holistic and integrative, with a focus on biological, psychological, and sociological contributors to psychiatric illness and wellness. He is especially interested in treating anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD. He believes in individualized, collaborative treatment plans as well as the importance of psychotherapy to help with recovery. In general, Dr. Tai prefers avoiding unnecessary medications and is particularly conservative regarding controlled substances such as benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, and Ativan) in favor of preventative and evidence-based treatments.

Dr Mark Shideler

Mark Shideler, Psychiatrist, Specialized In Psychological Trauma and PTSD, Licensed In California

Dr.  Mark Shideler is a psychiatrist at BeverlyMHS specializing in medication management for all mental conditions and has specialized training in psychological trauma and PTSD for all events such as, but not limited to childhood trauma, sexual assault and combat. Dr. Shideler is trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) for nightmares. Dr. Shideler is also trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy.  

Dr. Shideler is a spirited, non-judgemental doctor who enjoys helping people.   

Dr. Shideler graduated from the US Air Force Academy in Colorado and received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland. He completed his psychiatry residency and psychotherapy training at Wright State University in Ohio.

Dr. Shideler served as a psychiatrist and operational “flight doc/flight surgeon” for F-16 and C-130 units.  As such, Dr. Shideler is familiar with the practice of  medicine and psychiatry.  Dr. Shideler was selected as the first psychiatrist to develop a protocol to prevent the psychological consequences of remote combat operations. In addition to Uzbekistan/Afghanistan, Dr. Shideler went to Antarctica, the Philippines, Thailand and Japan in support of military and combat operations. 

After retiring from the Air Force, Dr. Shideler served 6 years as the medical director and clinical psychiatrist for the Cohen Veterans Network, a national non-profit caring for veterans and their family members.

Dr. Shideler’s life adventures have taken him far and wide, to include living in Alaska, both US coasts, states in between and S. Korea. In his spare time, Dr. Shideler enjoys his family, woodworking and the Great Outdoors.

Haiyan Wang, Board certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Based In California

Haiyan Wang, M.D. is a board certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist licensed in California and New York. Dr. Haiyan Wang completed the first three years of her adult psychiatry residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington D.C. and then moved on to complete her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at New York University, one of the nation’s leading institutes in children’s mental health. She has also received psychoanalytical training from Washington Baltimore Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Wang also holds a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Physiology and Neurobiology. Prior to her residency and fellowship, she invested years in psychiatric and neuroscience research and published journal articles.

Psychiatrist Dr. Haiyan Wang is particularly passionate about diagnosing and practicing evidence-based treatments in children, adolescents and young adults who have anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, mood disorder, PTSD, ADHD, disruptive behavior, and psychosis as well as providing parenting and behavioral strategies. She has a thorough knowledge of the neuroscience that is related to psychiatric illnesses and stays up to date with current research on those topics.

Candy Hull, Child & Adult Psychiatric Physician Assistant, Based In California

Candy Hull, PA-C, is a dedicated physician assistant specializing in mental health. She has extensive experience working with adults and children who struggle with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Additionally, she has worked with populations facing severe mental health challenges, including mood disorders and psychosis.

Prior to her career in psychiatry, she worked in internal medicine for years and is also a Registered Dietitian. Her broad knowledge in medicine greatly benefits patient care in the mental health field. With a talent for meeting individuals at their unique crossroads, Ms. Hull guides her patients on transformative journeys while de-stigmatizing mental health challenges. 

Outside of her rewarding career, she enjoys outdoor adventures and culinary delights inspired by the bounty of nature.

Yoko Ichimura Therapist at BeverlyMHS, California

Yoko Ichimura, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Based In Los Angeles 

Yoko Ichimura is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Education from the University of Montana. She has experience working in Community-Based Outpatient, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Yoko has a passion for working with teenagers, young and older adults. She helps developing and utilizing necessary coping skills to manage and thrive during difficult times and life transitions, and through needed changes.

Her specialty areas include depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and stress management. She approach therapy from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP).
